The next place you visit is Jodhpur and then Jaisalmer which is the Golden City and has a Golden Sandstone fort, old havelis, splendid lake and traditional bazaars to buy and sell handicraft and souvenirs. The expedition goes on to the golden Thar Desert, where one spends two memorable nights in a desert camp. In this case, you will have a camel ride, jeep safari, cultural dance performances, bonfires and tasty Rajasthani food with a full sky of stars. This will be the most memorable part of the trip as it consists of the peaceful mornings, exciting activities and the magical beauty of the dunes. Day 1: Arrival in Jodhpur – Explore the Blue City
The trip will start immediately after you get to Jodhpur, the renowned Blue City in Rajasthan. One of the representatives will meet you at the airport/railway station and will help you to check-in in your hotel. Take time to rest and refresh up after your travelling.During the afternoon, you are able to visit the local markets of Clock Tower and Sardar Market. These markets are over with traditional Rajasthani handicrafts, colourful bangles, spices and beautiful clothes. It is also possible to taste local snacks such as mirchi vada, pyaaz kachori and mawa ladoo.Have a pleasant night in your hotel in Jodhpur, and be ready to get to know the city better the following day.
Day 2: Jodhpur City Tour – Forts, Palaces & Culture
You then start sightseeing in Jodhpur after breakfast. The Mehrangarh fort which was one of the strongest forts in India is the first place of visit. The fort is situated on a hill and has breathtaking views of the whole Blue City. The interior of the fort will contain royal palaces,grand courtyards, ancient artefacts and paintings. Then go to Jaswant Thada which is a lovely marble structure in memory of Maharaja Jaswant Singh. It is an ideal place to take photographs because of its peaceful environment and white marble.You will then visit Umaid Bhawan Palace later, a portion of which is inhabited by the royal family. The palace museum exhibits the ancient cars, royal properties and history of the rulers at Jodhpur.During the evening, you may have a quiet stroll around the Umaid Bhawan premises or have a flavor of the true Rajasthan cuisine in a rooftop restaurant. Day 3: Jodhpur to Jaisalmer – Welcome to the Golden City
Post breakfast check out of your hotel and drive towards Jaisalmer. The ride is picturesque, through arid landscapes, queer villages and old step wells. Once in Jaisalmer, go into your hotel and take a rest.Then visit the lovely streets in the Gadisar Lake. This lake is a gorgeous one and is engulfed by temples, ghats and small outlets hence it is a serene location to take an evening stroll or go on a boat.You may also go to the malls around that you will find leather goods, mirror work fabrics, camel souvenirs and jewellery made by the hand. Day 4: Jaisalmer City Tour – Havelis, Fort & Desert Transfer
The day starts with a tour of the entire city of Jaisalmer, after breakfast. Begin with the magnificent Jaisalmer Fort also referred to as the Golden Fort. Thousands of people are still living in this very fort and the small lanes are crowded with stores, temples and antique houses.Then go to the largest and most artistic haveli in Jaisalmer known as Patwon ki Haveli. The city has been crafted in a fine way as depicted in its elaborate carvings and balconies. Proceed to Salim Singh ki Haveli and Nathmal ki Haveli which have significance in history and are of beautiful design.Drive to Sam Sand dunes in Thar desert by afternoon. On arrival, be accommodated in your desert camp.
Day 5: Desert Experience – Adventure & Relaxation
Vivid up wake to desert morning. Following breakfast, there are optional plans to be done with ATV biking, dune bashing, paragliding or making additional photos of the fantastic dunes.You can pass your day in the camp or in the local desert villages. You are able to socialize with the locals and learn about their desert life, culture and tradition.During the evening, another gorgeous desert sunset. You can later on have a warm dinner at the camp and spend your second night in the desert and maximize your special stay at the desert.
Day 6: Jaisalmer to Jodhpur – Tour Ends with Sweet Memories
